Teacher suffers heat exhaustion in Wicomico Co.

Officials say a teacher at West Salisbury Elementary suffered heat exhaustion Monday morning.
There is no word on the teacher’s condition at this time. Officials say there is no air conditioning in the building, but there are chicken fans in every room and water was also being supplied to students.
School policy is that if temperatures are forecast to reach higher than 85 degrees, then students are allowed an excused absence.
According to Chief Meteorologist Travis Michels, temperatures reached 88 degrees on Monday.
