Suspect arrested in Captial Green shooting

The Dover Police Department say members from the Delaware Fugitive Task Force and Maryland State Apprehension Team arrested Rakim Strickland, 25, of Dover, in connection to a shooting in the Capital Green Apartment Complex on May 15, 2015.

Authorities say Strickland was arrested without incident in the Hollingsworth Apartment Complex in Elkton, Md. Police say he is in Maryland awaiting extradition back to Delaware.

Police named Strickland as a suspect on May 16. Following his arrest, police say he has been charged with 1st degree Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Criminal Mischief over $1000.00, and 1st degree Criminal Trespass.
