SU receives historic nursing grant

Salisbury University’s nursing department received their largest grant to date. The school received over $2 million to continue a project titled, The Eastern Shore Faculty Academy and Mentoring Initiative.

The project prepares and trains clinical experts from area hospitals to become nurses. The grant was given by the Maryland Higher Education Commission as part of the Nurse Support Program.

The ultimate goal is to battle the nursing shortage in Maryland, by focusing on education.
