Roads expected to be full in Maryland for upcoming holiday

The July 4th weekend is right around the corner and AAA is expecting heavy traffic in Maryland.

According to the travel agency, over 870,000 people will travel 50 miles or more this Independence Day. That’s apparently the highest travel volume by Marylanders for the holiday period dating back to 2001.

For those on the road, the holiday couldn’t come at a better time. AAA says The average for a gallon of gas in Maryland is at $2.67 which is $0.94 cheaper than this time last year.

Also, starting July 1st, toll prices will be reduced on all of Maryland’s bridges and tunnels.
