Police reportedly seize over 1,100 bags of heroin during Dover traffic stop

A traffic stop in Dover, has reportedly lead to the arrest of two people, after Police say they found more than 1,100 bags of heroin in the vehicle.

Dover Police say on Monday, their Street Crimes Unit with Delaware Probation and Parole stopped a vehicle on N. Dupont Hwy near Lakeview Drive. During the stop, Officers reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting a search. In that search, Police say they found a smoking device with burnt marijuana inside, 1,153 bags of heroin totaling 17.295 grams, hypodermic needles, a digital scale, and $3,394 in cash.

The driver, 35-year-old Brian Poore, along with the passenger 22-year-old Julie Ganley, both of Dover, were taken into custody. Poore and Ganley were both charged with possession of heroin in a tier 5 quantity, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, conspiracy 2nd degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Poore was additionally charged with driving while suspended, and is now being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $91,500 cash bond. Ganley was released on a $72,500 bond.
