OC residents paying too much for taxes?

Due to what one group is claiming is error by the Ocean City Town Council Ocean City residents may have paid over 40 percent more in taxes than they should have over the past 10 years.

Ocean City Taxpayers for Social Justice is the name of the group that claims the town council has misused the Constant Yield Law, which allows governments to change tax rates automatically without a specific vote when property values vary.

They claim because of that misuse taxes have been adjusted improperly.

Last month the group submitted a petition with a little fewer than two thousand signatures.

According to their spokesman  Tony Christ  council is set to discuss the petition tomorrow during a closed meeting.
