Milford man accused of assaulting pregnant woman

Police say they have charged a Milford man, after he threatened to kill a pregnant woman in a local parking lot.
Milford Police say on the morning of May 24, Officers responded to Milford Bayhealth Hospital, for reports of an injured woman. Once at the hospital, Police say they found that the woman was pregnant, and had been assaulted the night before by 22-year-old Joseph Prouse.
According to the report, Prouse arrived in the parking lot of a business on S. Walnut Street, walked up to the woman, pulled a knife, and threatened to kill her. Police say Prouse then proceeded to bite the woman on her arm, before grabbing her by her hair and throwing her into a vehicle.
Prouse reportedly then fled the scene, but Police were able to arrest him the next day, and charged him with assault 2nd degree of a pregnant female, aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and terroristic threatening. Prouse is apparently being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,3000 bond.
The woman was treated at the hospital for minor injuries, and released.
