Man falls from fifth floor window in OC following alleged assault

A West Virginia man is reportedly recovering, following a fall from the fifth floor of a building, after he apparently assaulted a woman.
Ocean City Police say on Sunday around 9:30 PM, Officers responded to a hotel near 2nd Street and Atlantic Avenue, for reports that someone had fallen from a window. Once on scene, Police say they found a man, injured on the ground, who had apparently fallen from an open window on the fifth floor.
The man, later identified as 18-year-old Ricky Leon Miller, of West Virginia, was air-lifted from the scene to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police.
During their investigation, Police say they found that Miller had assaulted a 26-year-old woman, who had been walking with a baby stroller on the third floor of the property. The assault was apparently unprovoked, and the two reportedly had no prior contact. According to the report, after the assault, Miller fled to the fifth floor, where he then tried to leave the hotel through the hallway window, and fell five stories to the alley below.
Police say both alcohol and drugs are believed to be contributing factors to the incident. The investigation is reportedly on-going at this time, and charges may be pending, but haven’t been determined at this time. At last check, Miller was listed in stable condition.
This is the third reported fall in Ocean City, this summer. On May 14, a man apparently fell from a third story balcony, and on June 9, someone fell from a second story balcony.
