Jun. 8 – Miss Frostburg

20-year-old, Amy Wigglesworth of Princess Anne and Junior at Salisbury University is a preliminary titleholder for the Miss America Organization! Holding the title of Miss Frostburg she is a finalist headed to state competition at the Hagerstown Theatre June 24th through June 27th for the chance to be crowned Miss Maryland and compete at the nationally televised Miss America Pageant this September.

Amy’s platform is Operation S.O.S. (Support Our Soldiers). She has actively been involved supporting our soldiers since the age of 8 when her own father was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Currently she visits local high and middle school assemblies creating awareness as well as working with individual elementary school classrooms to encourage and help them to become involved with acts as simple as card making for our deployed soldiers. She is an active volunteer for the National Remember Our Troops Campaign and Operation Welcome Home.
 As a contestant Amy is also fundraising for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and is asking for your help! Thanks to the Miss America Organization and the Miss Maryland Organization, the John Hopkins Children’s Center will be able to create miracles for 90,000 children each year!
