High expectations for OCMD economy

Monday marked day two of the Annual Maryland Municipal League Convention in Ocean City, where a number of state and local elected officials gathered to network.
Among the attendees was state comptroller Peter Franchot. He took a stroll on the boardwalk and made stops at multiple local businesses.
According to Franchot, the Maryland economy can have its ups and downs but he says Ocean City is expected to have a successful summer season. This is apparently in large part to the Orioles having a good season.
“When that happens, people want to spend.. They’re happy and weather’s great down here, so everyone should come down here for the 4th of July and spend a lot of money, benefit the state and enjoy themselves.” Says Comptroller Franchot.
Before this tour, he presented the Maryland Hero Medallion to Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro.
