Easton Police offers station as location for safe online transactions

Another local police department is now offering citizens a safe place to meet to buy and sell items from on-line.

Easton Police Department says residents can now use their building as, a “Transaction Safe Place.” This gives buyers and seller a safe and secure location to meet and close online deals, like those buying items from Craigslist.

Police say residents can meet in the parking lot, or lobby, for legal transactions. Law enforcement says they are hoping their presence will scare off criminals who are looking for victims online.

The Department, located on W. Dover Street, is staffed 24-hours a day. Police are asking those who use the facility for transactions, to tell personnel the reason for your visit.
