DSP searching for suspect in Magnolia shooting

Denzel D. Braker, 19, of Dover, DE

Delaware State Police say they are searching for a Dover man, whom they believe shot one man, and assaulted another.

Investigators say the initial incident happened at about 8:50 PM on Saturday, at a home on Marshview Terrace in Magnolia. Police say 19-year-old Denzel Braker was at the home for a party, when he reportedly got into a fight with a 20-year-old Magnolia man.

During the altercation, reports say Braker pulled out a handgun and started assaulting the male victim with it. He then reportedly used the gun to shoot a 30-year-old Dover man in the lower body. Police say Baker then fled the area in a gold Chevrolet Suburban with Delaware plate PC419746.

Both men were treated for non-life threatening injuries at local hospitals.

Braker is now wanted on 1st and 2nd degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and four counts of 1st degree reckless endangering charges. Police describe him as a 5′ 10″ tall, black man, weighing 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who may know the location of Denzel Braker is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately. Police say not to approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Information may also be provided by contacting Detective Michael Weinstein at 302-741-2813.
