Coast Guard medevacs man near Ocean City

Coast Guard officials say a 58-year-old man was medevaced from a 40-foot vessel approximately 46 miles east of Ocean City.

We’re told around 12:30 p.m. Friday, a good samaritan reported the man was in need of immediate medical assistance.

Officials tell us a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City in New Jersey arrived at vessel around at 2:09 p.m. and hoisted the man aboard the helicopter.

The man was transferred to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for respiratory issues.

According to Coast Guard officials, a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Ocean City with two paramedics aboard also responded to the distress call.
