Child dead after boating accident

Officials tell 47 ABC that in addition to three people suffering injuries, a 7-year-old child is dead.

Authorities say that the injuries and fatality were a result of a racing boat losing control during a race in the Chesapeake Bay.

Coast guard officials say the received a call at 5:30 PM stating that the boat, which was racing in the Thunder on the Narrows event at the Kent Narrows, went out of control and crashed into members of a crowd who were on a spectator boats.

We’re told the accident is currently under investigation by the U.S. coast guard.
