Cambridge house fire ruled arson, investigators looking for information

An early morning house fire in Cambridge, has been ruled as arson. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says on Wednesday, just after 5:00 AM, the occupant of the two story home on Race Street discovered the flames.
Thirty five firefighters from Rescue, Trappe, and Linkwood all responded to the two alarm blaze, and had the flames under control in an hour. Officials say the home was equipped with smoke alarms that didn’t go off, however there were no injuries reported. Damages are estimated at $130,000.
Investigators say they found that the fire started on the front porch of the home, and have ruled the cause as arson. The Cambridge Police Department is also assisting in the investigation, while the American Red Cross is helping the victim.
