Cambridge car fire ruled accidental

A car fire in Dorchester County, has been ruled as accidental. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says on Tuesday, around 6:30 PM, the owner of a 2003 Hyundia XG350L contacted authorities about a fire.

Ten firefighters reportedly responded to the vehicle that was parked on Foxtail Drive in Cambridge, and had the blaze under control within 15 minutes. Investigators say the damages are estimated at $2,700. There were no injuries reported.

The flames reportedly started in the engine compartment of the sedan, and have been ruled as accidental, as it was apparently caused by something mechanical. The Cambridge Police Department reportedly assisted in the investigation.
