Bridgeville man dies from motorcycle crash

A Bridgeville man has died from the injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash, police say.
According to authorities, the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when 55-year-old Keith Harris was operating a 2002 Suzuki 1400 motorcycle southbound on Coverdale Road. As Harris took a turn at an apparent high speed, police say he drove into the northbound lane and then off the east side of the roadway in order to avoid an on-coming vehicle traveling northbound.
The motorcycle then struck a bush and ejected Harris onto the ground.
Harris, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.
Alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in this case.
