Biden’s campaign funds to be donated to his charity

Beau Biden’s remaining campaign funds will be donated to a new charity in his name.

Officials say Delaware law requires all remaining campaign funds to be donated to a charity once final bills are paid. An aide to the family says the funds will be sent to the “Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children”.

The son of Vice President Joe Biden died last month after battling brain cancer. The 46-year-old served as Delaware’s Attorney General from 2006 to 2014.

In a statement sent by Hallie Biden, Beau Biden’s widow, says: “The campaign money will be used to continue the work Beau loved most — protecting children — and the natural place to do that is the foundation.”
