Barricade situation resolved in Salisbury

A wanted felon is now in custody after a barricade situation in Salisbury.
Salisbury Police say they responded to Fitzwater Street Thursday night around 8:30 PM to assist members of the US Marshals Capital Area Region Fugitive Task Force. Reports say they were trying to take Major Richardson III into custody when he entered a house on the street and refused to come out.
Reports say Richardson was armed so police evacuated residents from nearby homes. Around 11:00 PM police say Richardson came out and was arrested without incident. Upon searching the house, police say they recovered a .22 caliber handgun and some cocaine packaged for individual sale.
According to police, charges are pending related to the seizure of the weapon and drugs. Richardson is being held on several outstanding warrants.
