UPDATE: DE teacher accused of sexual relationship with student enters plea

A Caesar Rodney wrestling coach arrested in January for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, appeared in court on Thursday. He was scheduled for a case review.
In court, Richard Howell pleaded not guilty to 50 counts of sexual offenses. Delaware Department of Justice Public Information Officer Carl Kanesfy, says this includes a number of charges.
The charges against him include 16 counts of first degree Sexual Abuse Of A Child by a person of trust, 27 counts of Sexual Abuse Of A Child By A Person Of Trust in the second degree, along with seven counts of Solicitation Of A Child Under 18.
We’re told the two lesser charges of rape have been dropped.
First degree Sexual Abuse Of A Child By A Person Of Trust is a felony charge, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Howell is expected back in court on June 9th for an additional case review.
His lawyer, Alexander Funk, says he is scheduled to appear in court for an additional case review on June 9th.
