Uber launches in Ocean City

With a touch of a button, residents and folks visiting Ocean City can request rides through a popular travel app.

Uber officially launched in the beach town on Friday.

The mobile app connects riders with the closest available driver. Because the app is connected through a rider’s a debit or credit card, company officials describe it as a seamless and cashless way to move around town.

The cost of a ride is $2.76 base fare plus $0.19 per minute and $1.52 per mile.
