The Riders Stroll Through First Round Of The State Tournament

The Caesar Rodney boys lacrosse team was at home taking on their rival, Dover, in the state tournament Saturday afternoon. The Riders were coming off of a 20-2 win over Concord – and looked to get another big win over Dover, but the Blue Raiders wouldn’t make that easy to do.

The Riders opened things up quickly in the first quarter capitalizing on the opportunity to take an early lead. Caesar Rodney outscored Dover 7-1 heading into half. The Riders added to their seven goals – quickly into the second half making it a 9-1 game after just three minutes of play. Dover scored four goals in the fourth quarter, but it wouldn’t be enough as Caesar Rodney put in the early work to get the 12-6 win.

Caesar Rodney will face Cape Henlopen in the next round of the state tournament!
