Teachers Who Make A Difference: May

A local teacher was the awarded the “Teachers Who Make A Difference” award for the month of May making her the final winner of the school year.

On Thursday, our news crew stopped by the Stepping Stones Learning Academy with the award sponsored by 47 ABC and Accurate Optical.

The recipient, Ms. Christina Schreiber, teaches 13 first graders at Stepping Stones. Ms. Schreiber says she was inspired to teach back when she was in high school and participated in a student-teaching program.

According to Schreiber, being open to new teaching methods is important.

“Every class is very different, so I try every year to try something new.” Says Screiber. “This class I’ve really enjoyed, because they have really made me dig deep and find things to make them successful.”

Schreiber has been an educator for about 15 years.
