SU Baseball Takes Shootout Over Rutgers-Camden

The Salisbury University baseball team pulled out a 13-12 win in a shoot out over Rutgers-Camden Friday afternoon. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 29-4 on the year.

Salisbury would jump out to a quick 5-0 lead highlighted by a Alex Lipman solo homer in the 2nd. But the Raptors would fight back using a long ball of their own after Billy Jackson belted a 3-run blast to left in the 3rd. Camden would go on to add 4 more runs in the 5th take the lead before Pete Grasso would help lead them back with an RBI single. But again the Raptors would come back, plating another 4 runs in the 6th to tie up the game at 11-11.  Kyle Godwin would then add an insurance run for the Sea Gulls with an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the 8th to push the lead to 2. Jackson would rip another homer in the top of the 9th, but that’s as close as the Raptors would get.

Salisbury now awaits for the release of the NCAA bracket to find out if they will earn an at large bid.
