Ridgely Make-A-Wish recipient continues to “pay it forward”

A Ridgely “Make-A-Wish” recipient is continuing to pay it forward so other children can have the same opportunity.
Danny Lockhart founded “Danny’s Walk” back in 2012 after he was diagnosed with a severe form of scoliosis and got his wish to go to Ocean City, Maryland.
Just a few weeks after his fourth walk, which raised more than $6,000, he is working on making next year’s event even more of a success.
“I’m hoping to help raise money to help achieve a child’s wish, I was a make a wish kid myself, so I know how important it is,” says Lockhart. ” I just want to be able to help other kids get their own wishes.”
With the help of town commissioners, “Danny’s Walk” was held at Martin Sutton Park this year. They say they want to make it an annual event for the town.
“We want to do whatever we can to help Danny,” says John Buckle, a town commissioner.
Since Lockhart started the event, he has raised just about $20,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The online fundraiser from last month’s walk will be open until December. To donate, visit his website.
