Parkside Softball Dominates Kent Island

Parkside’s softball team advanced to the second round of the state tournament Thursday after they dominated Kent Island 17-0. The Rams now advance to play Easton on Monday. 

The Rams would jump out to a quick lead after Maggie Cannon would hit an RBI double off the center field fence, followed by an RBI single Morgan McAllister. Cannon would also be dealing on the mound for the Rams, striking out the first 6 batters she saw, on her way to 11 strike outs on the day in a 1-hitter. The bats continued to remain hot for the Rams though, as Carmen Swafford hit a RBI bloop single. The lead continued to swell, as Cannon then boomed a 3-run in the park home run to right. The bats never slowed as Parkside would roll to the win.
