Parkside Baseball Moves On With Shutout Over NC

The Parkside baseball team is moving on to the regional semifinals game after they defeated North Caroline 10-0. The Rams will now face Queen Anne’s on Wednesday.

The Rams would take an early lead in the bottom of the first after Tolan Harrison drew a walk with the bases loaded to score LaBron Hilliard. Jack Goertzen would then stretch that lead to 4-0 after he hit a 2 RBI single to right. Hunter Parsons got the start on the mound for the Rams, and he looked solid in the 1st, coming up with a pair of strike outs. But just as the game got going, the rain would come in, and play would get suspended til Tuesday afternoon. there the teams would pick back up where they left off, and Parkside would again find their rhythm. Dalton Swanger would stretch the lead to 6-0 with a sac fly in the 4th. He would finish with 4 RBI’s in the game, and the lead proved to be more than enough for Nick Forbush. He would record 6 strike outs in the win for Parkside. Despite the score, Jake Stevenson continued to battle on the mound for the Bulldogs, but he team could never find their comfort at the plate.
