Mobile home fire in Accomack County

A number of local fire departments responded to a fire on Swan Drive Wednesday night at the Chincoteague Bay Trails End Campground. But it does appear the fire is now out.

Fire fighters are now putting water on the affected structures and monitoring hotspots for flareups.

Emergency officials say New Church, Greenbackville, Pocomoke, Stockton, Girdletree, Atlantic, and Wallops all sent services to assist in extinguishing the blaze.

At this time, it’s not clear if anyone was injured.  We’re told by a neighbor that the affected homes have been vacant for at least five years.
