Meth bust in Caroline County

A recent meth bust in Caroline County appears to be just the latest in a string of recent methamphetamine house raids since the start of the year.
Rae Ann Lednum, Christopher Kellenbenz, Brian Unruh and Jason Bass are now facing serious drug charges after a raid at this house on East Cherry Lane in Goldsboro, Maryland.
Police arrested them yesterday at the home, rented by Kellenbenz for possession of ingredients and materials used to make methamphetamines.
During the past three months the Caroline County Drug Task Force received numerous complaints regarding suspected drug activity at the house.
Neighbors we spoke to admit they were fearful of being so close to a meth lab but not for themselves.
“Not for me, for the kids. You got kids going up and down here skateboarding up in front and you got the kids here and the kids here and they’re walking past all the time and you know they don’t need to do that,” said neighbor Jeff Washington. “And the daughter, he has a daughter. I mean it’s not his daughter but she lived there and I feel sorry for her.”
Task force investigators could not confirm if there was a child living in the home, but say there was no kids at the residence when the drug bust took place.
47 ABC was told Lednum was arrested inside the house today.
According to neighbors Kellenbenz, Bass and Unruh were arrested on east cherry lane as they were walking back to the house.
Days before his arrest neighbors said they saw Kellenbenz, burning material that smelled that chemicals.
A spokesperson for the drug task force confirms there was burning being done prior to the raid and that investigators believe Kellenbenz was trying to destroy evidence.
Along with the drug paraphenalia and ingredients used to make meth officers found and confiscated 5 guns from the house.
This most recent raid is just the latest meth bust in Caroline County. Investigators tell 47 ABC this makes five raids in the past six months.
And what’s troubling is that some of those arrested on East Cherry Lane are also facing prior drug charges possibly related to the other meth busts earlier this year.
