Md. high schools ranked top in nation

Maryland has long been considered one of biggest contenders in terms of school rankings. A new report now places the state’s high schools at the top of the class.

According to the State Department of Education, Maryland has the highest percentage of top-performing high schools in the nation.

30% of its schools are reportedly considered to be in “top-tiers”, followed by California and Connecticut.

The measure on the percentage of students participating in and achieving passing scores on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.
