May 1 – Relay For Life of North Worcester

American Cancer Society Relay of North Worcester in Frontier Town Campground is May 8th, and is open to the public from 6-12 midnight, with fun carnival-style activities, live entertainment, food, huge silent auction, bouncy house & other kids activities, etc….for the entire family.
Relay is not a running event, but rather a great place to take your family on a Friday night!
Cancer Survivors and Caregiver are invited to join our Survivor Reception compliments of Atlantic General Hospital, and to walk their short Fight Back or Victory Lap at the start of our walk. Luminaria Ceremony at dusk is incredibly moving – anyone can take part by lighting a candle in honor or memory of someone touched by cancer by making a small donation. We light Luminaria bags and tiki torches that make one giant circle around our campsites & one of Frontier Town’s native American Indians leads us all in a lap around to view the Luminaria to the beat of his drum. Teams of supporters have been raising funds and awareness for months leading up to the big event – at Relay they set up campsites and hold fundraisers (unique crafts, art, baked goods, jewelry, etc for all to be involved with. It’s just a big birthday party – after all, the American Cancer Society is the official sponsor of more birthdays! Funds raised through Relay benefit our lifesaving programs of research, programs for patients, free education, and advocacy.
