Lady Bulldogs capture Bayside crown

The North Caroline Bulldogs softball team won the 2015 Bayside Championship, 9-2 over Mardela at Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury.

Julie Soathoff got the scoring started for North Caroline, when Melanie Hunter hit a ground ball up the middle, and Soathoff beat out throw home. Brea Bishop hit a two-run home run for the Bulldogs in the top of the second. Meg Robbins added a run on a past ball for the Bulldogs. A three-run fourth inning would put the game out of reach for Mardela, who scored two runs beyond the fourth inning, but it was too little too late.

Both teams await their seeding in the Maryland state playoffs.
