Hurricane Preparedness Week

We are less than fifteen days away from the start of hurricane season and next week is Hurricane Preparedness Week. The National Hurricane Center wants to prepare you for the upcoming hurricane season, so they’ve put a bunch of educational information together to help everyone learn more about hurricanes.
Each day of the week is assigned a specific subject pertaining to hurricanes. The topics include but aren’t limited to the basics of a hurricane, storm surge, wind, and forming a plan in case of a storm.
It is important to learn all about hurricanes, especially for coastal regions like Delmarva where there’s always a danger of a land-falling hurricane each season. The website to check out with all of the information is located here: www.hurricanes.gov/prepare.
The Climate Prediction Center still hasn’t released its official hurricane outlook, but several other forecasting entities have predicted a slow season with below normal hurricane activity due to the building El Nino.
