HGCS educator awarded “Teacher Who Makes A Difference”

Teachers around nation celebrated “Teacher Appreciation Day” on May 5 but here on the peninsula, but 47 ABC decided to shower another educator with a special surprise Friday.

The latest recipient of a Teacher Who Makes A difference award sponsored by 47 ABC and Accurate Optical is Mrs. Kathy Henderson from Holly Grove Christian School.

Mrs. Henderson has been teaching for over 39 years and spent 37 of them at HGCS. This year, she teaches 14 second graders.

“I like everything about it. It’s the perfect age.” Says Mrs. Henderson, “There’s never a dull moment. It’s interesting everyday. You meet lots of great kids.”
