Harrington man accused of raping teen boy

A Harrington man who was arrested earlier in May on burglary charges, is now facing rape charges as well.
Harrington Police say on May 15, they started an investigation into a sexual assault, after they received a tip about an incident involving 19-year-old Brian Pogats, and a 13-year-old boy.
According to the report, the alleged sexual assault happened at a home on South DuPont Highway, in Harrington. That investigation reportedly revealed that back in March, Pogats sexually assaulted the boy.
Pogats was brought in for questioning before he was arrested. He was then charged with one count of rape third degree where the victim is under 16-years-old, and released on a $20,000 bond. Harrington Police Detectives say they were assisted in the investigation by the Child Advocacy Center.
