Greenwood man dies from motorcycle crash

A Greenwood man has died from injuries sustained during a motorcycle crash from early May, according to Delaware State Police.

Authorities say Edward Plummer, 58, was traveling on Blanchard Road around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, May 8.  According to reports, Plummer failed to negotiate a curve and exited the west side of the roadway where he continued in a northerly direction before his motorcycle entered Shirley’s Road. 

Police tell 47 ABC there, the motorcycle rotated onto its left side and slid across the roadway until it struck a drainage ditch on the north side of Shirley’s Road. Plummer was reportedly ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the north side of the ditch.

Plummer, who was wearing an approved DOT helmet, was transported to Christiana Medical Center in Stanton where he died on Saturday May 9, 2015.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.
