Georgia man arrested in Dewey Beach following parking complaint

In the early morning hours of Saturday morning, Dewey Beach Police say they took 20-year old Davon Akins of Warner Robins, Georgia, into custody following the investigation of a parking complaint.
The officer apparently began to investigate a 2004 Cadillac CTS on Bellevue St. when a handgun was discovered on the front seat.
As the officer left the vehicle, Akins allegedly unlocked the car and removed the handgun.
Police say Akins then began to flee the scene and hid under another parked vehicle, one block away.
The firearm was apparently found on the ground near where Akins was arrested.
Akins was reportedly committed to the Sussex Correctional Center on $15,000.00 secured bond.
He is being charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
