Felton crash hospitalizes four

A two-vehicle crash involving a DART bus near Felton sent four people, including two children, to a local hospital.
Police say around 3:30 p.m. Friday, Harrington woman Carrie Chase was driving northbound on Fox Chase Road approaching Barratts Chapel Road. Around that same time, police say 52-year-old Ernest Halcomb was driving DART bus westbound on Barratts Chapel Road when the Pontiac failed to stop at the posted stop sign and continued into the intersection.
Chase’s vehicle was reportedly struck on the passenger’s side by the bus. Upon impact, the car was spun around in the intersection before coming to a stop on Barratts Chapel Road. According to authorities, the bus came to a stop in a yard on the northwest corner of the intersection after striking a tree.
Chase and her two children, ages 3 and 5 months, were transported by EMS to Kent General Hospital where she was admitted with undetermined injuries. Police say her two children were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Halcomb was also transported by EMS to Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
We’re told Chase was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and No Insurance in Possession.
