Easton man arrested for assault and false imprisonment

An Easton man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a female victim while holding her and her two children at gunpoint.
According to the Easton Police department, this stems from an incident on May 10 when 33-year-old Gregory Stewart was holding a female victim and her two children at gunpoint and would not let them leave. We’re told the female victim also had a small cut above her eye, where Stewart allegedly struck her with the gun and broke her glasses.
Police say Stewart could not be located at the time of the incident.
He was arrested on Saturday after officers served a Talbot County District Court
arrest warrant for one count of 1st degree Assault and three counts of False Imprisonment.
Authorities say Stewart has been taken to the Detention Center until a lawyer is provided.
