DSU to increase tuition for 2015-16 school year

After a nearly two year standstill, Delaware State University will be increasing their tuition for the next academic year.

The Delaware State University Board of Trustees has reportedly unanimously approved an increase of three percent to institution’s tuition structure for the 2015-2016 academic year. There hasn’t been a tuition increase in the last two years, however there still will be no increases toward the cost of room and board.

The change raises in-state tuition by $98 per semester, and out-of-state by $223 per semester.

David Turner, Chairman of DSU’s Board of Trustees, says “We remain committed to serving the needs of our students with the best possible education at the lowest possible prices. We will continue to drive efficiencies to assure we can maintain that standard.”

DSU President Harry L. Williams said “DSU administrators and the University’s Board of Trustees have worked hard to minimize the impact of the increase on students and their families. The result is an increase that is very modest, especially in light of the fact that it follows two years in which there were no increases in tuition and fees.”

The President says he feels even with the increase, DSU is still a great buy in the way of higher education.
