Dover PD aid child cancer patient

Four months ago, the Dover Police Department became Youtube sensations with their hit lip-syncing video the Taylor Swift song “Shake It Off.” They’re now using that fame to help a young cancer patient.
Victoria Marsh is a thirteen-year-old girl from northern Delaware and is a huge Taylor Swift fan. She has a form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma.
As a result of the success of the “Shake It Off” video, Swift’s record label gave Dover PD tickets to her June concert in Philadelphia. The department offered them to the Marsh family. Unfortunately, because of Victoria’s chemotherapy treatment she will not be able to go.
Dover PD has created a new video in hopes that Taylor Swift will see it and be willing to Facetime or even meet Victoria during her upcoming tour stop in Philly. Due to the success of their previous video, the department is able to reach a lot people with the hope one of them will be “T-Swift.”
Corporal Mark Hoffman says, “Our Facebook followers increased from 10,000 to 28,000. Our YouTube subscribers went from just a few hundred to over 40,000. Being able to reach that many people with just a few clicks of a mouse is pretty phenomenal. To be able to harness that ability and use it to do something good such as this, I think it’s great.”
