Dover man killed in New Castle Co. crash

A Dover man has passed following a fatal crash in New Castle County.

According to state troopers, 66-year-old Richard Murray was traveling on Cox Neck Road Friday morning.

We’re told Murray’s vehicle drifted off of the south side of the roadway, where it struck a traffic signal box and a dirt embankment. Police say his car then became airborne and struck a tree before it overturned and landed on its roof.

Murray was trapped in his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. 

This crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
