Dover Baseball Makes Statement In Win Over Parkside

Dover baseball traveled to Salisbury to take part in the Bi-State challenge Saturday and came away with a very impressive 8-1 win. The win improves the Senators to 10-2, while the loss drops the Rams to 16-2.
The Senators would go right to work, scoring a run in the 1st off a RBI single from Tevin Thomas. Hunter Parsons would then settle down for the next couple innings for the Rams, as the 1-0 lead would hold til the 3rd. There, the Senators would score another run after a strike three was dropped. The throw to 1st was in time for the out, but the relay home was off the mark to catch Dakota Graham who would come all the way around from 2nd to score to make it 2-0. Triston Harris would then have a sac fly in the to give Dover a 3-0 lead. Meanwhile, Kendall Small was dealing on the mound for Dover, and would take a no-hitter into the 7th. Dover would put the game away with a big 4th. Garrett Lawson would rope a stand up triple off the wall in right, bringing in a couple runs to push the lead to 6-0. Dover would add a couple more runs from there before Parkside was finally able to plate a score in the 7th to avoid the shutout.
Dover returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Sussex Central, while Parkside will await the release of the state tournament bracket.
