DelDOT reminds travelers of traffic app ahead of Memorial Day weekend

With Memorial Day weekend just about a week away, and traffic expected to be heavy throughout Delaware, one local agency has plans on how to make for a smoother trip.
The Delaware Department of Transportation is reminding travelers to download their smartphone app. The DelDOT app, which is available for both Apple and Android devices, features real time travel information throughout the state. You can also view real time traffic cameras, travel times, delays, advisories, and listen to travel advisory radio. All tools built to make your trip through or to Delaware, easier.
Officials say they are anticipating heavier than normal traffic on Delaware’s highways starting Friday, May 22. DelDOT is apparently trying to alleviate some of the traffic by suspending planned lane closures on Route 1, I-95, and U.S. Route 202, starting on the twenty second, and running until Monday. Officials do warn that traffic accidents along with other unpredictable types of incidents may cause lane closures and/or delays.
