Del. officials release statements on passing of Beau Biden

Lawmakers and state officials from Delaware are offering their condolences to the Biden family, after announcing the death of Beau Biden on Saturday evening.

Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice Leo E. Strine, Jr. was among the latest to send his wishes. In a statement released to 47 ABC, Chief Justice Strine said it was privilege to know Beau.

“He is known universally in our ranks for treating everyone he met with respect and courtesy, being a great listener, and for the evident love and devotion he had for his family. We honor and respect his commitment to our state and nation, and we hope that his family can find comfort in each other during this very sad time.” Says Strine, Jr.

The Delaware State Senate Republican Caucus also paid their respects after learning about Beau’s battle with brain cancer, which led to his death.

Bill Cook, a representative from the caucus, sent a statement that highlighted the importance of family.

“Family always came first for Beau and the family that is Delaware grieves for their loss. Like all Delawareans, we will take pause over the next few days to remember and pray for the Biden family.” The statement read.

Beau Biden was 46.
