Colonel Richardson Season Falls Short

The one-senior Colonel Richardson softball team was hoping to keep Emily Cox’s softball career alive in the state semi-finals taking on Sparrows Point.

A controversial play would lead to an RBI triple bringing in two runs to give the Pointers a 2-0 lead early on, but CR responded with class. In the bottom of the fourth, the Colonels would get those two runs back to tie things up at two. However, the Pointers would keep responding with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.

Then in the fifth inning, Colonel Richardson scored two runs while Sparrows Point only brought in one to make it 5-4 heading into the 7th inning where the Pointers held on for the win – putting an end to the Colonels season.
