Cape Henlopen Advances To The DIAA Championships

The Cape Henlopen girls lacrosse team took the field Thursday night in the rain looking to not let the weather conditions get in the way of their state championship hopes. The Vikings were at home taking on the Tower Hill Hillers – these teams played one another on May 8th, resulting in a 12-7 win for Cape.

The Vikings came out on fire – scoring eight unanswered goals in the first half. The Hillers managed to get on the board in the first half putting away one goal against Cape.  The Vikings continued to play with great intensity managing to finish off the first half with an 11-1 lead over the Hillers.

The Hillers notched the first goal in the second half looking to avoid a running clock. Town Hill added five goals in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to take the lead over a very good Cape team. The Vikings continued to keep pushing

Cape Henlopen takes this one, 17-8, and advances to the DIAA state championship game on Tuesday, May 26.
