Cambridge Cruises Past Kent County

The Kent County High School boy’s lacrosse team played host to Cambridge Friday afternoon, but couldn’t hold on to the high-powering offense of the Vikings, falling 15-4. Cambridge improves to 7-5, while the Trojans slip to 3-9.

The game was close for the first few minutes trading goals to start the game. Cambridge struck first with a long rip from Trevor North off a quick pass from Emory Wongus.

Kent answered on its next possession, but not on the first shot. Chas Williams took a rip from just five yards out, but a nice save would keep it from the back of the net. A loose ball was scooped back up by Williams, and spinning through the defense, made the second one count to draw the score back even, 1-1.

But the Vikings were just too much in this one, quickly pulling away to a 7-1 lead at the half.

Both squads will now look to the state playoffs for their next games.
