Buccaneers dominate River Hill to win second straight title

The Kent Island Buccaneers boys lacrosse team won their second consecutive MPSSAA 3A/2A state championship Tuesday, defeating River Hill 20-7 at Mustang Stadium on the campus of Stevenson University.

Senior Bobby Guiffreda led Kent Island with 5 goals and two assists, Stone Boone posted three goals, and Luke Fromert added two, while Zach Goodrich scored five goals and added three assists, one point shy of tying the most points in a 3A/2A championship game. For River Hill, senior Jimmy McEneany scored five goals.

The 20 goals put up by Kent Island, along with the 13 goal margin of victory now stand as the most ever in Maryland state history for a title game.
