Berlin man pronounced dead after car hits tree

A Berlin man was pronounced dead after his vehicle collided with a tree earlier this evening.

Maryland State Police say 54-year old Michael Edward Morrissette veered off of Rt. 50 in the area of Bell Road around 6:20 PM.

According to police, witnesses said Morrissette’s 1999 GMC Yukon exited the left side of the roadway into the median before it struck a tree.

Morrissette was pronounced dead on the scene.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
